Cairns State High School 100 years Anniversary

On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September 2017, Cairns State High School celebrated their 100th Anniversary. Hundreds of former students and staff attended to Friday celebrations, where they toured the school, participated in activities and recalled memories from their past.

Saturday evening saw a Jazz Supper Club attended by nearly 1000 guests, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

Autism Qld Charity Golf Day 2017

On Friday,18 August, I had the privilege of photographing the Autism Qld Charity Golf Day 2017 at Paradise Palm Golf course. It certainly seemed like a successful day, and fun was had by all.

Benefits of Superior Real Estate Photography

Superior quality real estate photos do not have to cost the earth. However, superior quality photographs are more likely to entice prospective buys who will get them to actually see the property, help get a sale at in a shorter timeframe and get a higher price for the property.

All of that make the client happier, gives them more money in their pockets, gets the stress of the sale over sooner and makes you, the agent, look better.  As an agent who gets faster results and more money for the client, you look better too. You have the results to prove it and that gets more listings.

Is spending $200-$250 on photography worthwhile? Well, just remember, a 1% difference on the sale prices of a $400,000 property is $4000. Isn’t it worth that kind of investment? Even spending and extra $300 on a walk-through video will more than pay for itself!

I now have a 6 metre tripod. This is extremely useful for many types of Real Estate and Property shots – either to give a better overview of the property, a view from a different aspect or simple to view a property on the high side of the street from a better angle.

The portability of the tripod also allows it to be used from the side or back of the property.

Videos can also be captured from this height.

While drone shots can give a much wider view, that can also include too much at times. There are also regulatory issues with flying drones near many locations. Six metres usually gives more than adequate extra reach in most cases.

Consumers prefer video!

Don’t believe me? Ask them. Walk up to the next person you see at a coffee shop, grocery store etc and say:

“excuse me, given the choice, would you prefer to see 25 pictures of a home you were interested in or short video?”

I bet that the answer is video.

Content is what consumers look for online when they have a need. Video is a medium for content and when it comes to content, if it is not good content, don’t waste your time, no one will see it. There are simply too many other choices out there.

Is there still a place for photographs?

Of course there is.

Still photographs have a use in newspaper advertising, websites, signboards and handouts.
